This blog has been a dream of ours for over a year, and quite frankly, I didn’t think it would ever get built. It’s amazing how many excuses we find to get out of doing something scary. And yes, starting a blog like this from scratch, admittedly having no idea what you’re doing, is scary.
But fortunately it’s also a hell of a lot of fun. “Real Life” (patent pending) gets in the way of this blog taking off more than I’d like to admit. Prime example: our forums are a barren wasteland. So it brings me a great sense of pleasure that we have as many readers/watchers that we do. And it’s happened in the blink of an eye.
We’ll continue to grow, I’ve no doubt. Especially now that I’m becoming educated in the ways of blogging. For instance, we now have an RSS feed and I encourage everyone who even remotely likes to subscribe. Also, I’ve done some other minor tweaks such as registering us on technorati. In fact, this is so new they’re requiring me to put this code – J4DPW54F2QPV – within this blog post to prove that I’m a real person and not some robot. (It depends on who you ask, really)
The best thing about being a bandwidth-vampire is meeting some damn cool people. Folks like Ed from Robot Viking, who not only offered me advice, but said I was “onto something” and invited us to guest blog on his site. Then again, he may have actually said I was “on something.” Either way we took over his site for a day, so we win.
We’ve got some big plans in the works…and we all hope that you’ll enjoy them enough to invite others along for the ride.
Thanks again everyone,
Bob Jorgensen (aka “Boy Genius” on every forum known to man)
p.s. We LOVE feedback! Suggestions for topics, criticisms, wacky ideas are welcome.
